My daughter is 5 and soooooo crazy every year for halloween she wants to be a CAT. I told her this year she has to pick something else. So we went out looking for costume’s and saw high school musical sharpay, barbie diva costume, and deluxe wonder women child. She tried on everyone and she decieded to pick wonder women, because she really enjoy’s running around with her cape flapping in the wind.

Me and my friends went to Burning Man this year and had the time of our lives! We all had crazy costumes that we dressed up in on different nights all week. I wore a Gold Venetian Mask the first night and my friend Danny wore the Silver Venetian Mask. I got a Black Panne Velvet Hooded Cape with mine and Danny wore a Black 74″ Hooded Cape, they looked so awesome! My friend Kelly wore the Blank White Male Mask and decorated it with jewels and paints to what he felt represented his essence. My friend Jessica did the same but she did hers with the Blank White Female Mask, she was really creative and added feathers around the top of it. My friend Sal and Ty are a couple and wanted to wear masks that were similar. So sal wore the Gold Tragedy Mask and Ty wore the Gold Comedy Mask. They painted them and wore them together, which was really awesome to see how each of them interpreted sadness and happiness. I think that we truly captured what the Burning Man Festival was about, dressing up and expressing ourselves through our masks. We were able to wear another face on the outside and still truly represent who we are on the inside.
Every year after Halloween is over, everyone has a solemn feeling towards their beautiful/thoughtful costume. They had put so much time and energy in finding, purchasing and fitting perfectly into their costume that when its all over, it is hard to let go. We all just have to put them back into their packages and say so-long till the distant future of another Halloween. Well this does not have to be the case all the time. Why not keep your new costume around and throw a fun theme-party?
Say you purchased a Chicago Flapper costume this year and it was a big hit at a Halloween party or contest. Just for the fun of it, you could have a 1920’s Gangster/Flapper party and invite your friends to come as the Gangster Black Moll Suit or the men’s Gangster Suit. You can re-use all your flapper accessories such as the Handbag- Flapper bag , the Flapper Cigarette Holder, and the Flapper Garter. Any excuse for people to dress up and have a good time, right?
