Burning Man Masks and Creativity
November 6th, 2007Me and my friends went to Burning Man this year and had the time of our lives! We all had crazy costumes that we dressed up in on different nights all week. I wore a Gold Venetian Mask the first night and my friend Danny wore the Silver Venetian Mask. I got a Black Panne Velvet Hooded Cape with mine and Danny wore a Black 74″ Hooded Cape, they looked so awesome! My friend Kelly wore the Blank White Male Mask and decorated it with jewels and paints to what he felt represented his essence. My friend Jessica did the same but she did hers with the Blank White Female Mask, she was really creative and added feathers around the top of it. My friend Sal and Ty are a couple and wanted to wear masks that were similar. So sal wore the Gold Tragedy Mask and Ty wore the Gold Comedy Mask. They painted them and wore them together, which was really awesome to see how each of them interpreted sadness and happiness. I think that we truly captured what the Burning Man Festival was about, dressing up and expressing ourselves through our masks. We were able to wear another face on the outside and still truly represent who we are on the inside.
