Mirror mirror on the wall who the best politician for a Halloween ball? No doubt about it – this election is offering the best of the best in politician fun! “Rednecks for Obama” greeted Obama in Missouri while McCain is turning out to be a big mask hit with the Halloween crowd. BUT let’s not leave Palin to the backwoods of costumes… her perky personality is in big demand with both the femmes and the boys. Hillary refuses to take a back seat and her costume is demanding attention and getting it! So who’s the best politician for a Halloween ball? All four of them would make a great group costume.

Better yet grab a couple of buddies for the Rednecks for Obama to follow Obama with McCain, Hiliary & Palin.  Need a Bush trailing behind? No problem Bushes are as easy to find as a Hanna Montona  tween fan.

Me and my friends will find any reason to throw a party, so we decided to spice things up a bit this time. We’re having a summer barbeque couples costume party! You don’t necessarily have to be dating or married to the person you pair up with but the idea is that you have to match someone else. We also decided that 4 people can dress together as well, as long as it is divisible by two. Since it’s my friends party he’s going to dress up as The Bun Maker Costume�and his wife is going to be the Bun in the Oven Costume. My friends Lucy and Nick are going as The Brick House Costume and The Brick Layer Costume, which mocks the Rick James song “Brick House”, I thought it was a really cute idea. I’m dressing up in a Peach Princess Toadstool Costume from the Nintendo Games and my boyfriend is dressing up in a Mario Costume from the Super Mario Brothers. This is going to be such an awesome party!

I just saw the last of the Shrek trilogy and I have to say, all three of those movies were made very well, ESPECIALLY the first one. People look so funny in his costumes like the Shrek Adult Costume, Deluxe Shrek Adult, and the Super Deluxe Shrek Adult. All of these costumes look so comfortable yet exactly like the character. It’s also a good costume if your a little bigger and need a costume with extra room. The Shrek costume isn’t the only nice set-up from the movie but also the Deluxe Fiona Adult, Fiona Adult, and the Fiona Wig with Tiara and Ears. You also can’t forget the other main characters in the movie like Donkey Child Costume�which goes great with the Donkey Ears and Teeth, the Shrek Puss In Boots Infant/Newborn�and of course the Shrek Donkey Infant. This would be a great idea for a group family costume theme!

I had been hearing a lot about this musical called High School Musical by Disney ever since it came out which I think was like 2 years ago. I always think that the made for T.V. movies aren’t going to be as good as the other movies that come out in theatres. Well, I was at the video store that other day and decided to just rent it to see what all the buzz was about. To be really honest, I thought it was a really well made movie for kids. They had such unique characters like the High School Musical Gabriella girl who was a cute actress (but kind of sang like Minnie Mouse). She really was dorbale though. There was also the “bad” girl, High School Musical Sharpay, who I absolutely thought sang better than the Gabriella character. The main star, High School Musical Troy�was such a great singer and an incredible dancer. When he was doing the basketball scene in the High School Musical Troy Championship Game costume, I was blown away by the choreography. All the props were also so cool which are all seen in the Girls Yearbook Dress-Up Kit�and the High School Musical Yearbook Kit. We even sell the High School Musical Cheerleader costume which also contributed so much to the story. I really recommend this movie to whoever wants to be wowed by new, young talented performers.

Finding mens costumes for my 1920’s setting was not going to be easy or cheap. But thanks to Costume Kingdom I was able to pull it off and stay within my budget. The costume that I purchased the most of was the Black and White Zoot Suit Costume for Adults. Some of the men were heavier than others so thank goodness I was also able to buy the Plus Size Zoot Suit Costume that was also black and white. Since I did like the style of this Zoot Suit I also got the Yellow and Black Zoot Suit for Adults and of course the Plus Size Gold and Black Zoot Suit Costume. I bought about a doze of the Costume Polka Dot Tie accessory to go with all of the costumes. Another costume that I found that worked perfectly was the White Pinstripe Zoot Suit Costume that came with a hat and went perfectly with any of the girl costumes to match. I also bought the Turquoise Pinstripe Zoot Suite Costume just because I thought it would really make my main characters really stand out in their scenes. It also came with a snazzy hat and suspenders! Hopefully my film will be able to go to Sundance this� year!

I’m�a�seinor film student making a film that takes place in the 1920’s. When� you�don’t have a high�budget you have to be creative when making decisions about setting and wardrobe. I was so pleased to find that costume kingdom had such reasonable prices for their 1920’s Costumes! I found this gorgeous Black and Gold Jazz Time Honey Flapper Dress Costume for my leading female role and when I added the Super Model Short Black Bob Wig it was perfect. I ended up purchasing the Burgandy Gatsby Girl Flapper Plus Size Costume as well for the other leading female role who was a bit larger in size than the other girl. For the other women in my film who were going to set the background 1920’s stage I purchased the Sexy Puttin on the Ritz 1920’s Costume, the Chicago Flapper Adult Costume, and the Gatsby Girl Black Flapper Costume. I had a short sexy dance scene in the film and I had a hard time deciding between the Millie the Flapper Adult Costume and the Sexy Flapper Adult Costume. I decided to just go with both because whichever one that I didn’t use I would just have one of the background girls wear it instead to keep the 1920’s feel. I also ended up buying about a dozen of the Flapper Girl Garter Belt�and half a dozen purses that were the Longer Shimmer Black Flapper Bag and the short Flapper Hand Purse. I also bought a dozen of �Flapper Bead Necklace and half a dozen of the Black Flapper Cloche Hat. I saved the best flapper purse for my leading role, it was the Shoulder Black Flapper Fringe Purse that had an adorable white flower on it. All of my women looked fabulous in the film. I know its still winter time, but I have been trying to plan a great Midsummer’s Night Dream for (duh) this summer. If you have ever read the Shakespearen play or seen the beautiful movie, you know why this type of party has to be scheduled during the summer. It is a sensual movie about four complicated people that get caught up in the fairy kings feud and tricked with a magical potion to fall in love with the first person they see. After a few mistakes, the people begin to see the person that they truly love. This story includes fantasy, mystery and most of all the quest for love. All these elements make for a very beautiful and sensual summer party.

During Halloween of 2007, there were several costumes for boys that were in such high demand they sold out almost immediately after they were put on the market, and were extremely hard to find after that. Of course the Transformer Optimus Prime costume for boys sold out the fastest, since the movie was such a huge success. Another popular costume that was in huge demand was the High School Musical Troy costume, also because of the success of the movie it was tied to. For three years in a row the Jack Sparrow Pirates of the Carribean costume has been the favorite of many costume buyers and pirate lovers as the sequals keep coming. And it wouldn’t be Halloween for boys without the ever popular Star Wars costumes like the Jango Fett Deluxe child Costume and the Darth Vader Deluxe child costume that seels out every year as the newer models come out with more to offer. The Light Saber from Star Wars�is probably the one accessory that we plan on selling out every year, as boys love to battle with them and pretend to be in the movie with their Jedi Robe child costume as well. Another very new popular costume for boys this year is not just ones based on movies but on TV shows. The Naruto Child Costume sold out so quickly this years, I wasn’t even sure we carried it. Of course the Deluxe Black Suited Spiderman child costume was a huge hit this year, as the new movie for that came out this year as well. It’s so interesting how the movie producers have discovered alternate ways for making profits from their films, it shows how much the movie business is not just about the movies, but always about business.

Last year a few friends and I decided to throw a party where we all dressed like the craziest celebrities out there. I decided to take on the role of Mariah Carey by wearing a long, ridiculous sparkley dress�and the Blonde Seduction Wig. One of my friends thought it would be really funny to be Paris Hilton so she was really creative and wore the Super Sexy Queen of Hearts Adult. She left the tiara on which made the costume even funnier. Once the party started, we started seeing so many different outrageous celebrity costumes. These two girls came as the Olson Twins and had on oversized droop dresses with saggy purses, Bangle Bracelets, oversized sun glasses and large cups of Starbucks. They were falling all night because their skinny legs couldn’t support�their�huge heels.

There were also a suprisingly large amount of guys that dressed up. Two guys�came wearing the 60’s Beatles Band Member Wig��and suits which I thought was very awesome since guys barely dress up for anything. They completely looked the part. Other guys came dressed in a�Supa’ Freakin Rick James Wig, an�Oversized Rock N’ Roll Wig, a Don King Wig, and many more. When everybody was there it seriously felt like we were in a VIP lounge for crazy people. It turned out to be a really fun party that I think everyone should experience.

The other day I had watched the Rocky Horror Picture Show, a musical about two yuppies that get trapped in a insane alien’s sexual escapades. It is a really fun and entertaining movie where the audience is urged to participate by responding to certain things in the movie. For example, at the wedding scene in the beginning the audience is supposed to throw rice at the screen just as the characters are doing in the movie. There are multiple instances throughout the movie where audience participation is encouraged.

I came to work the other day and told this crazy guy Donovan that I thought that movie was very interesting. He told me that he goes to certain theaters once a month and dresses up like all the characters. I thought it was pretty strange. The next day I came to work I was signing in and I saw him in the Frank-N-Furter Adult costume strutting around. It was very funny to see him in costume with the Pearl Choker and his full make up done with the Rocky Horror Make Up Kit. The proceeding day I was counting inventory and I saw him lurking around in the Riff Raff Adult Costume. He even had on the crazy make up and the essential Riff Raff Wig! I thought he couldn’t get any stranger but of course the next day I was waiting for the bathroom and suddenly he walked out wearing the Magenta Adult Costume. His Magenta Wig looked exactly like the one in the movie because it was big and bouncy. I must say it was quite fabulous. We had a nice break during the holidays and I thought Donovan would be over the whole dressing up phase but right when I stepped into the office he was doing the Time Warp dance in the Columbia Adult costume with another employee Micheline, also in a crazy Rocky Horror Picture Show costume.

I must say, Donovan is one unusual character.
